Shoulder to Shoulder is a West Virginia organization that increases capacity for direct service providers to address domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and dating violence and the unique barriers they create to accessing services for underserved victims in a way that is survivor-centered and trauma-informed.
OUR MISSION:
We stand together in solidarity to support and uplift the voices of underserved victims and survivors impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking.
We see a West Virginia that invites intersectionality and celebrates the dignity and self-worth embedded in all of us.
We focus on intentional advocacy and viable solutions for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking from underserved communities.
We look forward to creating a more empowered state that embraces a culturally respectful, trauma- informed, victim-centered, and safe environment for each and everyone.
Shoulder to Shoulder was honored with the 2025 Visibility Award at the West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s Inspiration Luncheon. The Visibility Award is given ‘to those who have shown exemplary service to underserved communities, to those who have committed themselves to bringing the voices and needs of underserved communities to the forefront.’
